One of the earliest lessons my mother taught me was the value of time. She kept on pounding the classic saying—

Time is Gold

I only got to realize this when I worked for consulting companies where chargeability rates per hour was a big deal. Counting the number of hours worked and the productivity that goes with it was awakening.
